The Reverend Alana Ragland is a graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Education and Speech communication. Alana also holds a Master of Arts degree in Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Ragland has been an educator for the past twenty-five years and currently serves as a school administrator in the position of Outreach Coordinator with the Alhambra School District. Her accomplishments include, a feature article in the Arizona Republican in which she spoke on the changing diversity of the classroom, recipient of the Excellence in Education award from the Alhambra school district and a recipient of the RODEL aspiring administrator award from the RODEL foundation. She is currently completing graduate administrative requirements with the aspiration of becoming a school principal.
As a native of Maywood, Illinois, Reverend Ragland was licensed to preach the gospel in the C.O.G.I.C. by Bishop W. J. Chambliss 1984, and again in the Baptist church in 1989 by Dr. Warren H. Stewart Sr. at the First Institutional Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ., where she is currently a member. Having been influenced by the Baptist church and the Church of God in Christ, Alana’s preaching ministry can be characterized as relevant, biblical, vibrancy for the purpose of encouragement and strength. Mrs. Ragland is a member of The First Intuitional Baptist Church of Phoenix Arizona, where her Pastor is Dr. Warren H. Stewart Sr.
Reverend Ragland has served in multiple ministry capacities including: Director of Care Group Ministry, Director of Women’s as well as interim Children’s Pastor. Alana’s Para church ministry includes serving as Vice President of Love Images Ministry with Dr. Janet L. Denson for the past sixteen years and most recently serving as an Executive Board member with the Reverend Sisters Alliance, under the leadership of Pastor Shermaine Fort.
The Reverend Alana is the mother of three children: Lyndon, Keturah, and Trinity. Alana Ragland believes and encourages people nationwide to walk in their purpose and not their past. She reminds them to choose God’s great plan – LIFE!
