Being a nurse for over 12 years has been a privilege and a dream come true.  At an early age the nursing profession has had an extensive impact on my life and has given me the drive to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Pursuing graduate studies at Grand Canyon University has allowed me the chance to continue in this professional journey.  Nursing is an evolving field that demands the best of those who have made a purposeful decision to deliver quality care to those who need it.  The qualities of a nurse, the desire for healthy relationships, care, compassion, and giving back are the very things that attracted me to the field of nursing and inspired me to pursue graduate studies in nursing.

My goal with the Family Nurse Practitioner program offered by Grand Canyon University is to obtain more knowledge in the realm of family practice medicine, and the ability to implement and facilitate that care well across all genders and ages.  The ability to emphasize overall positive health, wellbeing in a hands on clinical environment and embodying a holistic approach is what the healthcare setting needs.  My graduate level education will provide me with a knowledge base that will allow me to be a better asset to the healthcare patient community, my personal community, and the vocational community I have the privilege of working with.

I look forward to becoming an advanced practice nurse that holds integrity, knowledge, and skill in high esteem. The Family Nurse Practitioner program at Grand Canyon University will simply add to these core attributes making me a more efficient healthcare provider. I am confident that Grand Canyon University is the right path that will lead me in having a greater impact in the diverse and growing field of nursing.

Working full time as a registered nurse, attending school full time, and being a wife/mother full time is equally draining and fulfilling.  Support from my work environment and my home environment has been paramount in my educational success.  Entering into graduate studies has been an exciting and sacrificial experience to say the least.  Being considered for the Love Images scholarship is truly an honor and a privilege.
